Traveling with young children? Is a member of your party a child under 48 inches tall? Are you worried about the major attraction height requirements? Never fear! There’s still plenty for children to enjoy at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Discounted Tickets for Children Shorter than 48 Inches
Universal offers a modest discount for children (and adults) under 48 inches tall only when purchased at the front gate. If your child meets this requirement (which will be checked at time of purchase), their admission fee is reduced to between $93 to $104. (versus the typical $99 to $110).
However, you don’t save money by purchasing this ticket, you just lose time. Children ages 3-9 already receive the same discounted park admission when purchased online, in advance. Note this discount only applies on days where admission costs $90-95. Check out Universal Hollywood’s Official Ticketing Website to check prices for the day of your visit.
In any a case, we recommend ignoring this offer and purchasing your tickets online, in advance to avoid waits at the ticket kiosks.
Note that infants ages 2 and under get into the park for free.

They’re conveniently located, with one in the Upper Lot and one in the Lower Lot, near attractions with height requirements. If your entire party wants to experience an attraction, we recommend taking advantage of our Child Switch Guide.
In addition to the aforementioned attractions, there’s plenty of popular characters to see around the park, including Scooby Doo, Shrek & Donkey, and The Minions. Check out our Character Guide for more information.
Finally, we recommend you take advantage of our One-Day Touring Plan for Children Under 48 Inches. Note that this plan skips rides with height requirements, so refer to our Ultimate One-Day Touring Plan if you’d like to see everything while taking advantage of Child Switch.
