The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

You just discovered the definitive vacation planning resource for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

The vacation planning experts at Orlando and California Informer are no strangers to The Wizarding World, having covered both the Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley launches at the Universal Orlando Resort. The west coast Wizarding World is set to transform the Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles into California’s hottest destination. In preparation for massive attendance increase, we’re ready to offer our top-notch advice, obsessively updated resources, and internationally renowned expertise to Universal Studios Hollywood vacationers.

On this page, you’ll find an overview of what The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has to offer Universal Studios Hollywood guests.

Hogwarts Castle

Hogsmeade and Hogwarts Castle

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s west coast iteration includes two main areas from the Harry Potter novel and film series: Hogsmeade Village and Hogwarts Castle. Hogsmeade hosts half a dozen stores with exclusive, must-have Wizarding World merchandise that you can’t get anywhere else. Authentic cuisine is also offered at The Three Broomsticks, Hogs Head Pub, and carts throughout the area. Of course, no visit to Hogsmeade is complete without trying the world-famous Butterbeer. The village also includes the Ollivander’s Wand Shop experience and an outdoor stage where the Frog Choir and Triwizard Spirit Rally perform.

Hogwarts Castle and its grounds feature the area’s main attractions. Flight of the Hippogriff is Universal Studios Hollywood’s first and only outdoor family roller coaster, a quick-but-thrilling voyage around Hagrid’s Hut that travels up to 40mph. The premiere attraction waits within the castle’s walls: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a groundbreaking 3D thrill ride and the Wizarding World’s grandest achievement.

Some have called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter a small park unto itself, and they aren’t wrong. Though the area only has two physical rides and five total attractions, most guests spend several hours exploring the area’s stores, restaurants, and many nooks and crannies. Even more secrets await if you purchase an interactive wand, allowing you to cast spells at nearly a dozen hidden locations throughout Hogsmeade.

You’ll want to devote a good portion of your day at Universal Studios Hollywood to fully experiencing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Below you’ll find a directory for the land’s attractions, restaurants, and shops.
